Just noticed one of my Swordtail got dropsy last night. Funny because I have not added any fish or plants since Dec.

I have since removed the fish. What should I do to the existing tank? Treat with medicine or just change water?

If the dropsy is in the beginning stage, u might want to try dosing Interpet No.9 and Epsom salt which might save your affected swordtail.
    Good Luck

Too late. The Swordtail died the next day. The scales were already open up a lot already.

I dose my tank weekly with Epsom Salts (for plants), could this prevent future outbreak?

    hi juggler

did you introduce any new fish recently like a month ago?....if not check your water for high NO3 level....excessively NO3 level can cause fish to have pop-eye and if not remedied, the rest of the fish may blot
