Hi, I have a overhead filter which cover the back half of the tank and the lights cover the front half. I suspect that the plants at the back will not receive sufficient light. Is there any way to overcome this problem? I've thought of gluing those LED strips to the bottom of the filterbox, but would they be strong enough? I'm planning for low-light to mid-light background plants. Thanks!

Overheat filter normally not recommended for planted tank due to splashing.

Splashing meaning that the water flow from you ohf will cause the water to splash, thus the co2 in the water will tend to escape from the water.

Hi Zack, I'm having a low-tech tank, with Excel Dosing. So would OHF still be a problem?

Splashing will not be a problem if your are using Seachem Excel only. It is not a form of CO2, but a different Carbon compound that the plants can get Carbon from.
