I got a feeling that the tetra might be the ones as they are faster swimmer than the goby..

The BumbleBee gobies will live much longer in a slightly brackish water tank.
Only a few brackish water fish that small are available so go with the path of least resistances and keep the Serpae Tetras.
They are much like Tiger Barbs wherein a larger group will be less likely to nip fins and you will have a much larger selection of Tetras to choose other take mates.
They rarely bother other Tetras. Male Betta splendens, Gouramis and Angelfish are commonly victimized by Serpae Tetras.
Peaceful medium sized SA Cichlids like Mesonauta species can hold their own despite having long pelvic fins.
Old fish breeder. SA Dwarf Cichlids, Hypancistrus sp L260, L333 and Peckoltia L134 breeder. Also Sturisoma, Dwarf Corydoras spp, wild Discus and Killiefish. Like breeding Characins and wild Betta spp too.
