if I'm not mistaken, it should not be shown as part of your attachment limit. What you need to do is click the insert image, pop-up window will aske you to enter the picture link.
Hi Mods (Vinz & all)
Quick question.
If i host pictures on 3rd party (as in photo bucket or ImageShack) it still shows up as part of my attachments limits. Personally it should not be taking server space, only server bandwith.
In part of contributing we tend to want to leave the picture so others can view them and understand more (as the saying goes a picture is tells a thousand words), but this limit is makimng me want to remove all my attachments .
I remebered the older version when i came to AQ had many pictures that i could quickly understand the thread-starter's problem and the ones that people who overcame them had taken and uploaded. to me it helped me alot when i started or had problems.
Sidetrack, the current system is good but nothing is without flaws. im ok if there is no solution but the least i know the reason why.
Cheers and good raya to all the muslim in fourm.

If the pictures are hosted on external photo site, it should not take up your attachment quota... unless you used "Managed Attachment" >> "Add Files" >> "Website" and entered the URL to your photo. This way will download the photos to AQ server and store as attachment.
To embed a photo from external site without using Attachments, you should click the photo icon in the tool bar when you are composing the post. It is in the same row as the Bold, Italic, etc icons, after the envelop (Insert Email Link) icon.

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Thanks vinz and Shadow for clearing up.

how do you delete files once you have reached your attachment limit?
Click "Settings" (top right hand corner of any AQ page) to open the Settings page.
Click "Attachments" near the bottom of the menu on the left side of the Settings page.
The rest is self-explanatory.

Thank you so much for telling me where it is I didn't notice such a small "attachments" button. Been searching the site for it.
