    dear all,

I just found out sometime today.. care to share with all the newbie here.
(hope I did not break any rulz here by doing so)

ok..If you have enough lights and the correct C02 injection for your planted tank and all other elements of the water is ok, yet dun get to see bubbles from the plants.. check this out.[]

check the surface of the water, if there a layer of oil. try to remove it. cos' found out that this layer of oil (somehow) actually reduce the light to the plant...

I did to my tank yesterday..so today come home ..WOW[:0] bubbles coming out from most of my plants [] Cooooooool man

Did you measure your PH and KH? How do you know you have the correct CO2 injection? How much light and what kind of plants do you have?

    hello lorba,

yes.. I did measured the KH and PH level..

what I saying is.. assume those ppl already setup their tank and do all any other necessary things and yet no bubble from their plants.. checking the oil layer on the surface might solve their problem []

btw.. me just sharing my exp here... not to go into details of KH,PH,NO2 or NO3 or how many lux/gal etc etc..

Does it mean that you have not install a surface skimmer? Anyway, get one and save yourself some labour.

Yes, it seems too big, more so after you have a few inches of gravel. Maybe you can steal the design and DIY one for yourself.

I have set up a few 2ft tanks (1.5ft height) for some friends, all installed with a surface skimmer (the brand should be tom's skimmer), doesnt seem to give problem.

You can get some guppies, mollies, swordtails......

These also can remove the suface protein/oil.

Surface skimmer really too big for a 2 ft tank.

IMO--Check you temperature, try to bring that down to below 28ºC.... you don't need the surface skimmer for a 2ft, get some platies/guppies, they will do the job for you
    ...I love rubies too ...
