    I have two mollies and not sure if I should be keeping salt in their tanks.

    Yes, they are hard-water fishes, and salt is neccessary.

    Everyone tells me they need salt but I notice that no one will ever tell you how much and what kind of salt.

    I have a 15g and I use aquarium salt at 0.1% right now. That is 1 teaspoon per gallon.

    How hard does the water need to be. My KH is 6, GH is 8 and my PH is 7.5

    When i go online to check out the specs for these fish everyone has a different answer.

    why need to add salt if the mollies are healthy ?

    Not absolutely necessary imo, adding coral chips to increase ph should be sufficient.
    Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and he will drink beer while getting sunburnt.
