so the thickness of base fertilizer is around 1 inch and for gravel is around 1 to 1.5 inch.

In the article, it said base fertilizer should be around 4 inch at the back, so must the gravel be thicker there also?

frankly, for myself, this is only a guide I placed my gravel 2 inch front and 4 inch back. Bigger plants are growing in the back ground will need more space for roots to spreadout... I intended to plant Glosso/Hair grass thus no need so thick. The thinner the gravel in front the more view space you have.

bro limsteel, does 4 inches of gravel at the back included base ferilizer? or still have to add 2 inches of base fertilizer at the back?

My base fert not that thick... I bought 1 tub only. Again I assign a bit more to the back. Base fert not more then an inch thick, thickness lay according to proportion. This way, I made the gravel generally fertile.

I place some fert sticks/balls to places where more Nutrient hungry plants are located. Those high speed grower, I let them be. This way I control the location where more nutrient is needed.

But I spend more on fert sticks/balls... Up to your choice.
