Anyway, I need to reconfirm whether my plant is Subwassertang or Monosolenium? Help my ID my plant guys. Thanks!
I been having this plants for ages, for almost a year. And for a long time, I thought it was Pellia, now rename as Monosolenium tenerum. Until I did a google search of Subwassertang, than I realize my 'pellia' was actually Subwassertang. The person who sell me the plant label it as pellia as well.
I believe some forumers are often mislead and thought they are the same as well. So I need some experts to confirm the point below:
Subwassertang, Lomariopsis lineata:
Appears more flat, looks more rounded and really seaweed like.

My plant:
Monosolenium tenerum:
Appears more liverwort like, like a blow up ricca and have similar leaf structure. With a obvious Y fork.

Hi bro comet, your plant looks like Subwassertang to me... Does it attach to rocks/driftwood or anything?
Hey Stan, Nope. It doesn't seems to attach to my rock. Most of the subwassertang I have, is on wire mesh.
You have Subwassertang and called Loma fern for awhile now. It can attach to rocks and wood. It doesn't have a vein like pelia does. That's the best way to differentiate the two IMHO.
You can if you dare to fail - Stan Chung
Hi Comet, the one you have is Subwassertang... It does attach to DWs & rocks overtime if you tie it on them... For my case, noticed it even grow on some of my magic soil after a period of time. Do take note that the bottom layer tied to the mesh will lose it's green colour & turn whitish over the period while the top part will grow & remain green...
Used it previously as a foreground plant in one of my tank (but removed it when it starts to accumulate a lot of dirt among themselves...). Liked its texture, looks & feels like those agar-agar...

What you have is Subwassertang. It looks similar to pelia, but is much much hardier, I kept my trims of Subwassertang in a Choya bottle in my office, no CO2, with just the ceiling light and occassional top up of water, now it is already filling up the whole bottle and no browning at all.
