Yes picture are from Taiwanese forum...However I have 2 exact one in my tank...(from Eco-culture)...When planted, it did not adapt well and melted most of its older leaves...but new leaves are growing...look petetic... so shame to post the picture (maybe will take a pic tonight to show)...

Juggler, the one you took is exactly the same as the one I have...I also heard that this was harvest locally....

May I know where the place in you picture? Is it in Singapore?

No its not. Chinese name: nan2 du4 da4 gu3 jing1. The TW and HK people call it in english as eraucaulon robustius. Not too sure if its accurate anot.
I've the plant and have done the comparison with the local species sometime back ... []

This is the actual pics in my tank, the cinereum look alike but broader leaf has no name for now...it look horrible and shed away older leaves while trying to adapt to new environment but it is growing now.

The one next to it is the Eriocaulon Cinereum.

Eric, looks like you have them in the foreground. It may not be suitable as a foreground plant. They grow very tall in water.

Do you think it is the same as the Taiwanese picture I post at the begining. If it is the same then should be OK, it show as foreground plant in the taiwanese picture as well.

If it is the same as local...then I will be in big trouble...let see how it turns up...

Anyone have the Scientific name? Both the taiwanese one and the local one.

An anouncement to everyone, this plant has totally melted down in about 3 weeks time...Shame shame...[] [] []

Look like Vitri has just bought some of these...lets follow his thread and see if he can tame them in his tank.

    Cheers

last year I bought 5 plants of Eriocaulon sp. from Ah Pek for $25. Planted in my tank and next morning found my yamato had eaten everything! EVERYTHING! [] [] []

I believe some shrimp are plant monster..but mostly are adult shrimps.

    My experience..

Yamato: munch on any soft tissue plant. Riccia, Tonina..etc
Tiger : chew and break stem of small Green Barclaya plantlets.
Red Nose Mosquito: eating my Proserpinaca Palustris.
Cherry: the most harmless, not observing any destruction so far.

The funny thing is...they all live in the same tank but choose to attack on different plant....different liking???

    Oops, off topic already...

now that you mention it, my rhomboid barb and Rasbora sp. cf. borapetensis has been observerd recently to pull out young hairgrass leaves and slowly munch and swallow, with the HG leaf sticking out of their mouth, later emerging as a long, stringy, green sh!t.

Off Topic, HWChoy, I think I saw you in TEO last saturday, standing infront of the display tank, talking about the your yamato eating your plant.
