you can add dewormer powder like fenbendazole (make sure you know the amount to use and also some snails are sceptical to this treatment) or go the natural way by introducing fishes that eat these worms.. you can try scarlet badis or dwarf gourami, works for me but will not completely eradicate the problem, just keeping the population of the worms under control.

Boxedfish is right, If you have snails in the tank, note that dewormer and chemicals like vermex will kill them. And a risk to shrimps too. Boraras works fine for me, they ate like everything up in my 2 ft within days. Just don't feed them during that time until the worms are gone.

bro, what kind of tank are you going for anyway. It's always not very advisable to keep using chemicals. there are always side effects. are you still cycling the tank?

a 1 ft tank. had 1 small pleco but that poor guy got sucked up the filter, so now it's fishless. that's when all these little worms and bugs started to come out to play.

Intend to get these bugs out, and then i'll do a 50% water change (over say, 2 weeks?) to bring the chem levels down before i get some shrimps and plecos to repopulate.

    Re: worms in the tank

just a quick update on vermex, the worms are slowly but surely dying off. the ones which are still surviving are at best weak.

going to leave it that way for a week to be absolutely sure i won't have another infestation again. dropped by seaview earlier to check out what kind of medications they have for bugs; seems like copper based treatment might be the way to go?

anyway, i suspect these unwelcomed guests came in on the 'mini java moss' which i bought 2 weeks ago from a rather dodgy lfs near me. sigh...

For those worm, most likely is due to uneaten food...

based on my experience, when u have gravel, higher chances of having them...

    Hi,
for my 2ft I introduced a betta to clear off these worms. worked really well for me, and interesting to watch the betta look for them.
