Help! Is it possible that my water pump's current too strong that killed my paroon shark? If thats the case, how can I do anything to help?

    Break up the current by

    1) Pointing the discharge of the pump toward the wall/Side of the tank
    2) Pointing the discharge directly downway
    3) Creating a barrier to break up the current

If i discharge it downwards, does it reduce the oxygen level in the water?

    hi,

you may want to invest in the inexpensive rainbar to disperse the pressure.

    just my 2 cents worth.

You can just as easily place the rainbar below the water surface. Voila! No sound of water splashing.

    Re: Water current too strong?

If the fish you had was Leptobarbus rubripinna, then it should not have died from the current unless it was excessively strong. These are river dwelling fish that can handle some form of current but unless the current was like a washing machine, I doubt the fish would have died. It is crucial to consider other factors like water parameters and/or disease as well.
