Cheers,
I have dwarf cichlids in my tanks! Do you?
nice shots. you should put copyright mark (to protect your property) in your pictures in strategic places.
thnx for all the feedback guys.
will take note of the copyright mark thing. thanks tropic n blur2x.
benny,
a picture paints a thousand words. so my flash set up is as below.
together with that is a 550EX on the cam to trigger the 420EX.

Interesting setup! Does this mean that you also fire the 550 EX flash? There's no hot spot evident. And 420 EX is pointed into the tank? Also, the lens is a tele macro (90 - 105 mm)?
Hope you don't mind, but this is my favorite amongst your collection from the link you provided.

benny, good choice. I like the one with eggs too.
fishie, where is your 550EX pointing, straight in or bounced? Do you use second curtain sync on the 550EX?
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

yup, the 550 also fires. but i had it bounced off using an omnibouce.
the 420 point into the tank from the top as shown above.
no hotspots? to be honest, took me quite some shots to finally got the right way to shoot without have the hotspots. can't say how to avoid it in a single way coz all shots taken from different angle requires different positioning of the flashes. generally, the lens is as close as possible to the tank, at a tilted angle.
my lens? ehh... no macro lens really.
just a tube attached to the cam and either using my 28-235 IS or 28-70L.
yeah i really like that shot too coz most of the fish body is sharp.
i'm thankful that it don't move around much when posing for the shot.
