    Hi all,

Like to do a quick informal survey (if I can call it)on what's the lighting intensity in your tank? I am refering to:

    1)Tank size
    2)total wattage of lights.
    3)watts per gallon.

    Starting with mine:

    Tank : 60cm x 30cm x 36cm
    Total Wattage : 2 X 18 watts fl.tube(36 watts)
Watts per gallon : approx. 2 watts per gallon.

    Thanks

    * This tank is 3WPG, but I consider it as low/moderate light as the 30W is spread over a large area.

Wow...really eye blinding reading all those wattage!

Correct me if I am wrong, the rule of thumb is 2 to 3 watt per us gallon?
I am contemplating of added 2 X 18 watt fl tube to my current 36 watt. This will make it to approx 4 watt per us gallon. Also afraid Algae out break.

    Joking only:
Dunno if the fish need to have sun glasses, heh heh heh they may feel they are at constant flash mode []

I also had algae whatever the wattage. think light affects mostly those green algae on the glass.

    Tank size: 4 X 2 X 2 ft
Water Volume: tanke size - 10cm of substrate = 360L or 95 USG
    Light: 2 X 150W MH = 300W

    Light supplied: 3.15WpG

I think most of you guys calculated total tank size. IMO, it's more accurate using water volume for the 3WpG guideline.
    Cheers!!
