    Hi guys,
Just want to check if light colour temperature (measured in Kelvin) is best for planted tank. I am using a osram 6500k but am contemplating higher K to 8000 as some hobbylist told me thats best for plants...

Plants predominantly used the red and blue spectrum of light for photosynthesis.

Lower K lights (2700-4000K) will have more red while higher K lights (>6000K) will have more blue. Both are suitable for plants.

The only difference is probably different colour light will trigger different reaction in plants, e.g. internodal length in stem plants or leaf colour. Reaction of different plants varies.

IMO, it is mostly up to one's preference.

    Hi!

Read from some thread here in AQ that Osram only have 6k tubes, no 6.5k tubes. U may wanna check on that.

    Cheers!
