Use cotton thread to tie and the moss will grow onto the wood itself after awhile.
Hi
i've been receiving conflicting info with regards to tying mosses. Petmart staff told me use fishing string. While others say use cotton thread cos when they disintegrate over time, the moss would have attached to rocks/wood already. SO which advice do i follow?
Also do mosses attach themselves to rocks?

roy, you can use anything that will not leech chemicals into the water column. The medium will be hidden by the grown moss in no time.
Fishing line, cotton thread (which probably take very long to disintegrate), staple, cable tie, anything.

roy,
Tying is the fastest way.
or you can do it the Teo plant farm method, just spread the moss over the wood
keep it in a moist environment and wait for the moss to achor itself on your drift wood.
Do take note that this takes times to settle.
I am using fishing lines to tie the java moss, then got some moss drifts from teos where it has already attached itself to the drift.
