Any one have them in your tank right now?
To me they the look like unimacs.
    I might be wrong.

They are also know as sp. Bulungan, and a member of the unimac group, so treat them like you would with any unimac.

Another uncommon mouthbrooding betta species. May I ask where you got these wild caught fishes from?

Hi Shi Xuan they are from East Kalimantan... Being brought over by a friend who is working there.
From what I'm being told they are "stone fish" being caught by using line and hook method..I'm not sure quite aggressive fish I must say.. Mine is abt 3.5-4 inches long.. So far I can't get much info on them in the net..they are really different from my coccinas and channoides..

Merged both threads Fendi. Nice fish, keep us updated on how they are doing.

I've never heard of bettas being caught with hook and line before, guess these fish are ambush predators.

    Re: betta sp antuta

Interesting to note how they catch the fish with line and hooks but sure it's amazing to see how this method works. I have always thought small fishes like these are caught with nets or hands.

Their care and breeding should be the same as Betta unimaculata, so a larger tank, say 35L or so, should be appropriate.
