beautiful fish... too often under-rated as a ornamental fish.

actually the red flash shark Puntius denisonii looks exactly like an SAE with a red eyebrow and swimming energetically. [:]

Is it the fish called red line torpedo or denison flying fox? I got a couple of those in my tank. Very big and fat now. It has a red line down from the eye to mid abdomen area. The anal fin has 2 yellow streak on it. Very beautiful fish.

    Cheers

I have 5 of the P. denisonii. Very peaceful fish. I have C. hasbrosus, sparkling gouramis, some small charachins, some N. eques and otos in there. No problems. Other then a fat old SAE, they are the biggest fishes in there.

The only possibly related losses are the teeny weeny taiwan shrimps I added some weeks ago. They dissappeared the very next day and the only fishes in the tank then was the SAE, otos and the P. denisonii.

lvanilla, I haven't seen any other variations. Maybe its the water conditions.

The price varies from LFS to LFS, ranging from $10 to $25. I got mine at Clementi Florist and Aquarium (the original C32 at a pretty good price. It'll be worth your while to check them out.

I have seen those with very light coloration on the body and anal fin, should be the water condition because mine is totally pale when i switch off the light.

They are extremely peaceful fish. If budget allows, I would have got a few more to school.

My SAEs sometimes schools with the denisons.
