what exacty are 'those liquid fertiliser'?
using co2 bps as a gauge is not meaningful because of tank size, lighting, growth rate and etc...
you should check co2 by ph/kh chart. aim for at least 20ppm.
ppm stands for part per million.
Hi Bros,
I have just setup my new planted tank, would like to know when to add in the liquid fertiliser?
Tank setup : 03 Dec
Sera substrate base with gravel
Should I use Dennerle S7 or those liquid fertiliser? I was told S7 is better that those liquid fertiliser.
Currently, I input 2 bubble per sec of co2? Is it enough? Any rough guide?
Many thanks
Cheers

S7 is micro nutrients (i.e. trace elements) and vitamins only. Plants also need macro nutrients.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
I think the 'those fert' that he's refering to is PMDD.
sound like refering to comprehensive fert. Normally Comprehensive fert are in liquid form like Dr Mallick----------------

Get the CO2 proper first before thinking about fertilizing...make sure it stays within 20-30ppm range during the entire photoperiod. That is the tip I have for you regardless of high or low light you have for your setup. After that, you can look at dosing macros (N,P,K) and traces (TMG, Seachem flourish, Sera florena or Dr Mallick micros..)

fleek,
You may wanna do yourself a favour by reading up the articles in the Aquatic FAQ section. Answer to your question on ppm can be found in the first thread I clicked on. Dosing and CO2 are also covered in that section.

Hi Bros,
Currently, I am using the normal Sera PH tester, that will only give a difference of 0.5 differences in PH reading, is that alright?
When should I start checking my PH & KH? After 1 week or what?
What if the reading is at the red zone or blue zone of the table? reduce the co2 input (red zone) and vice-versa?
Pls help.
Many thanks.
