Congrats. But do note that the vivarium should be kept at 18-20 degrees celsius, if the firebellies are to be kept, alive, active, and healthy for their full lifespan.
This is new 1ft by 1ft Vivarium set up. Many thanks to Merviso and all the contributors in AQ for the much needed info.

Set up is using black quartz gravel and Gex soil(red pack) for the top of the land area. Tank is currently being cycled(FBN not in it yet)
Plants used: Anubias, penny wort, HC, java moss and a fern i uprooted near my house.and another emmersed plant that I am not too certain about.
Need some suggestions for what moss to grow on the black divider netting in the middle.
Thanks =)

twigster, what are those plants on the land areas?
these newt legal in sg?
Hi Twigster, wouldn't it be hard to find the Newts given that they are also dark in color and you are using alll black soil? I am on the look out for some lighter color small river pebbles to use in my 1ft tank.
Hi s11loop, It is difficult to find them when looking from certain angles. My original intention was to allow the plants to creep and cover most of the soil.. However, that seems to be failing(most plants died on me), only the mosses & ferns i got from the wild and anubias are thriving.
Hence, I would definitely recommend lighter soil.
first time i see newts. do u buy them from LFS or catch them?
Hi diftbaker,
I love to see more such critters sold in LFS. However, the AVA is not keen on have them in our shore, sighs! Cheer up! We got approved pets are vampire crabs, mud skippers, and even White Tree frogs for paludarium/vivarium/ riparium! Let me know if you are keen on set up this project.
