Yeah, Eheim is definitely a better choice. But why not put in the living room, bro. More space & a good conversation piece for your guests.

    Re: Farona Garden

    Before, 12000K 32W T5 + 5bps CO2

My plants never pearl, no matter how much I cranked the CO2. Injecting 5bps CO2 in 1.5ft tank is like a suicide, almost killed my fish

But after I've changed the light to 6500K, everything pearls like mad eventho I've lowered CO2 back to only 1bps.

    6500K 36W T5 + 1bps CO2

So yeah, its no secret & has been discussed many times that 6500K light supplies the complete wavelength that plants required to grow. I just couldn't find 6500K T5 tube for my 1.5ft tank until I found the Odyssea 50cm light

    Re: Farona Garden

In addition to the pearling topic above. In the past I've tried to decrease flowrate, increase flowrate, decrease ph, increase ph, increase fert, increase CO2 (up to 5bps), increase oxygen saturation, but none worked.

The only one that works is by changing light from 12000K to 6500K.

Hi, i am interested to know how does your new 50 cm light fixture fit on a 40 cm tank. I have the same sized tank and am looking for an alternate light at the 6500k temperature. Could you post an updated picture?

Can pm me where you got the lights? I can only find them at mizuworld.

    Thanks

Hi, I'm planning to suspend the light over the tank with light stand. At the moment its resting on the tank glass with about 5cm overhang on both sides, pretty unsightly. You can get the light from East Ocean.

A look at the mess underneath the tank. 1L CO2 + UP Solenoid, Odyssea T5HO ballast, GEX air pump, Eheim 2213.

    Fragile diffuser is fragile

Anyway, now I know why the high tech people means by high maintenance, lol.
My Rotalas grow at more than 1cm a day & my Wisteria is taking over my whole tank despite frequent trimming. This monster plant is spreading its roots everywhere & blocking the lights. Gonna remove the Wisteria & mow down the Rotala this weekend.

    Re: Farona Garden

Lol, my new diffuser really hate me!

On friday, it was broken literally 5 min I took it out of the box. Then yesterday after I super-glued it back, for some stupid reason, it was hit directly by a box falling off my rack. Boom!

Oh, well. I'll just stick with my old diffuser then.

Anyway, 7 weeks after setup. The bottom part of background is still very empty.
One last shot before major trimming & filling up the bottom part.

Thanks, bro. That's Celestial Pearl Danio or known as Galaxy Rasbora. Got them from C328

    Re: Farona Garden

Just came back from my 2 wk vacation. As I expected, my electricity tripped during lightning storm when we were away. Here is my thread asking for advice before leaving.
    http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum...age?highlight=

I'm guessing the power went out for at least 1 week (judging from all the rotten stuff in my fridge, especially the rotten blood worm in the freezer, yuck!!).
But because I dropped a few pieces of oxygen stones (h2o2) inside the tank & canister filter, everyone survives without aeration for days.
I think the bb somehow survives too, because I just turned the filter back on & the water didn't experience any ammonia spike at all.

Plants-wise, not so good. All HC died & melted, rotalas half dead & messed up.

Oh, well, maybe its good time to rescape.

Beautiful-looking fish; I never notice this when I drop by C328; may I know where they are usually situate at (in the shop)? Are they shrimp-safe?

They're on those tiny tanks on the shelves above the CRS Grade A/S tanks. Yup, they're very peaceful & shy fish, never bother others.

Oh, along with the rows of fighting fishes. Are their main colour always that lovely navy blue? Or need to get a specific gender?

Maybe because they are too small that's why I usually miss them. How small are the usual stock? Can PM me the price?

The males are blue color with beautiful red fins. While the females are quite dull.

They are normally about 1" in the shop. Price wise, very cheap

    Re: Farona Garden

Slowly reviving & rescaping the half-dead scape. Replanted all HC & trimmed all stem plants, hopefully they can bounce back.

In the mean time, added P.Furcatus & Golden WCMM.

However these Furcatus will be given up for adoption since they will grow too big for my tank. Might be replacing them with smaller P. Gertrudae or P. Red Neon
