I wanted to start a planted tank using hc as carpet
C328 run out of hc. I went to polyart and saw they sell submerged hc.

If I buy submerged hc and start emerged the hc will have problem right?

But if I buy submerged hc. Then I dun have to use the emerged method. But is so then the growth of the hc will be slow right?

Not grow in substrate? Then hardly think it is then.

What made you think it's grown submerged? Cause they put it in water??

See what others say then decide.

But if they put in water and it's well. meaning they are submerged and taking nutrient from the water right? thats why many emerged plant die after filling up the water cause they have problem converting.

You assuming polyart keep the display hc very long before their sold? It takes time to convert to submerged growth.
A mere few days quite easy to get by from what the plant can absorb from just the water alone.

While the general concept you have that plants brown or melt as they cannot adapt to the environment well enough.

However, cannot say most. This is variable to the hobbyist who is planting.

Ye maybe I just get the emerged hc from C328 and plant emerged which is easier. Then convert to submerged after they covered the whole grow. And start pumping co2.

The general idea starts dsm or submerged with co2.
You know why co2 enriched water better for hc adapting right?

I bought the HC mentioned by TS from Polyart a few days ago. I think they're grown emersed, but Polyart just dunk them inside the tank. The uncle told me they haven't been in the water for long when I asked him. I bought anyway since C328 ran out of HC.

That long? Maybe on low tech?
Coz most of the high tech setup I've seen, the growth usually exploded in less than 1 month. In my own noob experience, in the first 2 weeks the emersed leaves will melt, but after that the submerged form will start to grow like weed.

Both, but yeah, maybe the lower temperature helps. Anyway I remember reading bro Shadow grows his HC without chiller right? As long as lots of CO2 & light.
