    Re: Zebra OTO

You can get them from C328 and any other stores that stock "exotic" fish. Tried Y618 yet?

They need a certain diet to thrive and often those at the shops do not get fed very well. You might want to ask the GC shopkeeper what he feeds them.

Hi SH, thanks very much, I try not to travel so far (I am in Serangoon) to the west for 1 fish. But if no choice then i will. I think that is why mine died, i did not give it the certain diet you mentioned. Maybe you can tell me what is their special diet? Can i dump this diet in the shrimp tank, because thats where the oto will stay.

    You sure it's $2? Haha.
If its normal Otto, it will be expensive, as normal fish shops sells them at $1.20/piece?

    Re: Zebra OTO

Zebra Otocinclus or Otocinclus cocama is not the same as the Tiger Oto, which is a Parotocinclus sp. with a different body form.

I find them to be more sensitive than the common Oto. They are more herbivorous in nature and you can feed them with blanched slices of veggies like cucumbers. An occasional feeding of frozen bloodworm can be a treat but they seem to prefer brown/green algae and veggies.

Otocinclus are generally shrimp safe. They may compete for food but otherwise pose no direct danger to the shrimps or shrimplets.

Are there some otos that are carnivorous? Some database seem to say that the normal Oto Affinis are strictly plant/algae eaters, while Zebra and some other otos are carnivorous?
