On a related issue, how do I make my drift wood sink? Bought a mangrove looking one but the darn thing floats!!!
Boil or soak it long enough, should make it sink. If all else fail and anchor down via rock and stone.

Just like to share some experience. Bought a driftwood and soak it in water with baking soda added (read about this method somewhere) there where some bubbles from the wood immediately and the excretion of the dark brown color is much faster than just soaking in water. I guess the high pH buffering of the baking soda has got something to do with it.
Don't for get to add some chlorine bleach to kill off every last bit of harmful unknown organisms. It lightens the wood.
Scrub off the softer parts.
I'm back!
Hi Bttay!
What's the amount of baking soda you're adding?
Thanks

The past is HISTORY... the future is MYSTERY
I added four teaspoons to a pail. The water feels a bit soapy after that.----------------
