I think, unless they change their concept on controling the market by not selling the females, then it will kill this trend.. I think most of us, feel that way too.. me not really depending on the local big boys.. rather local breeders who is willing to share the diff Apisto species with us and of coz in pairs and not jus male

How true . many times the greatest satisfaction in keeping fish is to be able to breed them. by witholding the females, many pple will not find the fish that interesting.
and end up not keeping the fish at all. i think one very impt factor that makes discus, bettas and even lhs so popular, is bcos hobbyiests can breed them and "improve" the fish.

maybe someone should make use of this chance and pump female apistos into the spore mkt. []

When I started my guppy e-club, I sorta 'advertise' on every local fish forum in Singapore... Posting a notice, leaving my club's address as my signature, etc...

Me quite interested too, but will be like lsz first lah....observer. My priority at the moment is still the plants, but everytime meet u fellas, all i hear is apistalk (apisto talk)...can't help but get interested liao.

Some possibilities:
1) Database/pics of apistos. Maybe can categorise according to value (like dennerle...yellow, blue, red). For this actually gd accompany wif pics of the local fellas.

2) Database of lfs wif gd supply of apistos?

3) Success stories of breeding specific apistos?

4) Apisto x-change (swop apistos section)

All the best fellas...

BTW, anyone got cacatuoides? Wanna sell me? Hehe....
