Maybe he's refering to buy from indonesia or malaysia where the workmanship is cheaper, esp the cabiet part.
Do let us know if you have this loand. :P
Currently I'm have two 3 feet tanks, locally made, I got alot of problems with one of them when I first bought them a year ago. The trouble of removing the fishes and plants to do the repair is a nightmare.
For my next upgrade, I'm planning of buying a branded one, eg Eheim. But I'm sure that there are other brand, that I'm not aware of.
Thanks
Ehiem tank??? wow.. u are gonna be the envy of all of us here.. it is very ex leh...[]

from what I know, they dun import the whole tank over (I suppose it will cost a lot). They get people local to make the tanks according to their specifications.. so you might as well be getting a local tank after all and paying a imported price.
CK,
Thanks for the information, do you have any contact of reliable local supplier or shop.
Thanks

Have also went down to Sys and Control to check out MH.
The Bioplast tank from German is very nice. Glass thickness is 12mm and price quote for 4 x 2x 2 is $1600. Local made with cabinet u can get at ~ $1000
Cheers
Chyebeng,
a few tanks i drool about. One of which the the Aquatechnic one. Brace-less ( you know, the center thingy to support the tank). very good for tanks to show off emersed plant growth... adds another dimension to the aquascape. but the price not nice lah... Pacific-marine one also not bad. comparable to the Aquatechnic ones. Bioplast ones I am not sure... haven't been to that shop.
If you want cheap, Soonheng tanks are reasonable, but I am sure there are others around.
sidenote: no one will know the difference if you have a branded tank or not, if all other equipments and aquascape are crappy (unless you leave the price tag there). on the other hand, you can have a cheap unbranded tank, but still make it look fantastic with stunning aquascape (and then regret that you should have gotten a nice tank to go with it).
without centre brace too----------------

is it due to the design of the cover ? are you using the black acrylic kind (eg corral reef? )
If talking abt fish tank alone, there are several local shop and also private tankmakers that make very good quality tanks.
The problem I encountered was leakage after two month of using it. The shop I bought it from did the repair.
Hi guys, thanks for the input and suggestion. I bought my 4ft (1.2m) tank today. It cost me $950. It is a Eheim, this price included a 2224 external filter, Arcadia lighings, poster and food pack, free delivery. I went to most of the shops that your guys mentioned,
other dimensions? i presume it's a 4x1.5x1.5?
So cheap?? As a local make with cabinet 4 x 2 x 2 that Ifound so far the cheapest is 950 already. No filter at all and just normal FL tubes.
Let me know where u got it from?
Cheers
