Hi , do anyone of you use this brand of Iron and Trace fertilizer ?

    Have a few questions
    1. Do i insert the tablets into the gravel (near to plants) or juz leave it on top the gravel ?
    2. How long does it last ? Weekly topping ?
    3. If overdose, does it affect the plants , like melting or algae bloom?

One LFS told me he has to insert 6 tablets weekly to boost up 6 stalks of his Lugwigia sp. ?? 1 for 1 !!!!!

    thanks

I suggest that you pay a visit to JBL website (www.jbl.de). They have good information on their products.

According to their website, apparently ferrotabs are meant for water column fertilisation.

Their product discription on their webby:

    - For the absorption of nutrients through the leaves.
    - With iron and all essential minerals and trace elements in a form readily-accessible for plants.
    - Does not contain phosphates and nitrates.
    - 30 Tablets, for 750 l Aquariumnwater
    - Remedies chronic iron and potassium deficiency.

Their 7 ball product is for root fertilisation.

I guess that Ferrotab are readily soluble and is more suited for water column fertilisation. Even if you stick it into the gravel, it may just quickly dissolve and diffuse out into the water. I think 7 Balls may the the slow dissolving kind for root fertilisation. Just my guess.
