Questions on Planted Tanks

Fellow Gurus,

Need some advise, appreciate if forum members could help.

(1) Thinking of experimenting with Planted tank and would like to know the Preferred thickness of glass for Planted tank? I'm hoping to convert existing fish tank to a planted tank. My current setup is 3'x1.5'x1.5', Glass thickness is 6mm. Should I used a thicker glass tank instead ? What's the recommendation ?

(2) Any Recommendation for Fertilizer Substrate ?

(3) Since I'm experiementing with PLanted tank, is there any kind soul out there who can offer me some fast-growing plants for my setup?

(4) I'm on a limited budget for my experimenting setup any offer/help would be appreciated.
