Hey guys! Does anyone know what kind of plant this is? The leaves are like very narrow and thin. Bought this for 4 bucks on driftwood

Is it ok if some leaves are above the water level? 2.jpg1.jpg3.jpg

Was about to comment that it's not an aquatic plant at first, but I'm scared that I might be wrong. +1 on shadow's post

However, since I kept it before, I can tell you that it's just like plastic plant, it won't grow or melt away in water. Able to maintain its green up to half an year in tank.

Re: Help appreciated: ID plant please

That is indeed Mondo Grass. Some LFS, like C328, order these terrestrial/bog/marsh plants from their suppliers too. Either they do not know these plants are not meant for a fully aquatic environment, or they just order whatever is available. They are commonly sold, even overseas, and people still buy them because they don't know how to tell a terrestrial plant from an aquatic plant.

Many LFS will not give you proper advice, because after all, they are running a business. However, that uncle who said you can keep CRS after a few hours of cycling, is truly insane. He can try that with feeder shrimps..
