You need to post the following info too:
1. NO3
2. NO2
3. NH4
When the NH4 and NO2 are equals to zero, you can start adding hardy fishes in small numbers.

If you have not added any fish at all, it is time to add some algae eaters like otto or bottom feeder like cory. I usually add these fishes on the second/third day to kick off the amonia cycle.
Sleepy_lancs: If he did not add any fish, there should not be any NH4 and thus no NO2 and NO3 right?[/quote]

Bttay: He is using a soil based fertiliser.
I would usually put algae eaters after NH4 = 0 and NO2 =0. And my choice of algae eaters is Mollies... surprise surprise

well actually my ammonia level is :0
now i juz saw a small tiny snail in my tank!!!! there are n fish and no other live creatures in my tank except for the plants and yet there is this snail moving around...is there any immediate danger to the plants.heard snails multiply fast. is there anything that can be done.
Manually remove any snails just before the lights are turn on. You can put a dish upside down with a few cucumber on it to attract the snails to feast onto the bait.
remove the dish and the snail once you feel like doing so. Usually leaving the dish overnight will do the thrick .
Cheers!

You can introduce mini puffer. Very cheap and effective. Snails disappear in just few days. If no more snail in the tank. She might attack other fishes with long fins. Not all are aggressive like my mini puffer is gentle. If possible, feed then live food. Ram also known as snail eater not as aggressive as puffer but most of the ram don,t eat snail. Try your luck lor.
Hi Bro,
Add in the algae crews first to remove any first sign of algae, if there is.
Be patient about adding livestocks, algae crews are not for cycling of water. Add some super BB if you have, no harm to plants but expedite the growth of your BB in your canister. But only do it after adding livestocks. I would recommend you adding platys, cheap & quite hardy. Need not do any feeding, they will eat your dead leaves. If you need some, let me know, I have abt 5 to spare. Do it real slow in adding your livestocks.
Be patient abt adding any other stuffs, monitor your co2/kh/ph first.
Let your plants get rooted first.
Let me know if you need any platys.
