Hi, has anyone bought a chiller lately, I am looking at getting a Hailea HS28a or equivalent, I hear Petmart sells it for 30 reds...anyone knows if I can get a better deal?

I plan to use it with a Eheim ecco Pro, I think it is a 600L/H filter..any take on this?

Oh yes, it is for a 40L, 1.5ft tank.

$300 to me seems okay. I believe the set come with 6 months warranty. Another brand that you can consider will be Resun but i remember seeing more than $300 for the lowest specs.

NA has the Hailea 150a ( which I believe is the same as the 28a ) for a little less than the 30 red that petsmart is asking for.

I vaguely remember c328 sells for less than 30 reds and I saw a new one on their shelf. Maybe you can check with them. Let me know where you decided to get it from, I'll be getting one in the a couple of months time.

I hope i'm not breaking any rules and no offence to all Resun owners.

While on a trip to Guangzhou (China), i visited many LFS. Most of the LFS there recommend Hailea to Resun.

Both are reputable brands in China but according to them Resun have a higher defective rate.

Actually $300 is preferred to "30 reds", it is also part of the rules if i am not mistaken. How on earth will a non local know our $10 is a red color note lmao.

I was there on Saturday, the one that they have is a 130a. Slightly cheaper than a Hs28a. It also got me thinking, 130a is good enough for my needs, according to the lady in NA. Should i settle for it or wait for the Hs28a?

if you are not intending to upgrade to bigger tank size 130a will be enough. However if you are intending to upgrade in the future, i would advise you to get 150a or hs28a.

The Hailea HS series has a bigger capacity one which just came out.
