    I don't know if you have noticed, but there is thing called a Critters Database somewhere on the menu on the top right. Click on it (don't worry, it won't bring you to some site with pop-up menus of bosomy blondes, though you may wish) and the only clue I will give you is to search the Fish Database in the Carplike Fish section.

    When you have found the fish ID, congratulate yourself.... you are now a fledgling Researcher!!!!

    Thank you for directly me there, always thought AQ has only the plants database. Found my fish:

    Danio choprai

    But what is the common fish name?

    Think you should go to Petfrd and read your thread....they already told you its called a Glowlight Danio which is the common name for Danio choprai ..

    Think you got a reply in Petfrd almost the same day you posted it there, heck 1 hour after you posted it

    choprae is the wrong form, it is correctly be Danio choprai being named after Dr. Chopra which is a man. Thus the latinised form must be masculine, hence the "i" suffix.

    In fact if you look at the annotation on the image in the database, it says "choprai"
    why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.
