for 36 cm, maybe you can do 24W PL. Wiring from ballast to the tube is very easy. The ballast will have 2 wire input which connect to 240V and 4 wire output which connect to the tube and that about it nothing special.
Hi all, not sure if this is the correct area to post. Mod do delete it if its inappropriate
I have a 36cm Aquazonic lightset (broken) but body is still usable. Thinking of converting it to fit PL tubes to grow easy plants. Considering that its hard to find a T5 tube for that size of lightset.
Anyone have any idea on how to wire them in?

you can buy 4 core cable from hardware shop if only connecting to single ballast to the tubes...
PL Tube - 4 Core cable - E-Ballast (not magnetic one) - 2 core cable to 240V

Im a total noob with ballast and its been years since I assembled lightsets. The last i touched them was during Technical classes in secondary school. Im just worried that the ballast may not fit the Aquazonic fixture :S
It looks kinda cramped to fit a 24 Pl with the ballast haha
So i gotta grab:
4 Core Cable
E-Ballast
2 Core Cable
Is this correct?

that is correct, bring your light set along when you buy the ballast and bulb. However, I'm not sure if different ballast have different wiring
You will end up like my old set. Ballast hanging lol.

Ah. ok. Thanks. Gonna hunt down some stuffs then. I don't really bite the idea of hanging ballast lol My mum's gonna give hell of a speech if she sees that hahaha
Edit: I can use one ballast for two PL tubes right? I was thinking of fitting 9 Watts x 2 just incase if 24 Watts is too cramped

Last time mine was 8 core wire foc from the last owner. Used 1 ballast from NA. Recall the price was ok.

usually the ballast will show the wiring diagram.
since you are not familiar with electrical stuff, it would be advisable to get some electrically trained person to modify for you. electricity can kill!
