wow! that's a very unique way to plant fissidens. I surely like to know how it will turn up. Very interesting indeed. It might work for other types of fissidens as well.
Instead of tied to wire mesh.....or driftwood.....or etc etc.....
I try out this.....will it work and bossom nicely???
putting them is between the ceramic rings....

This is nice. How do you tie them in?
I did not tied....
Just put in the hole of the ceramic ring...
I did this because Fissiden will actually root and grip on....
So wondering if anyone try it before...and see how it looks like when boom up....
I will update on e process of the growth...in this thread. X
Hopefully...it turn out nice....
That surely must be one of the most innovative way of 'planting' fissidens. Kudos to you.
Thanks......
I will update the growth......
The thing about fissiden is that it'll eventually start dying and rotting from the base and the top part will break off and float again if the bush is allowed to grow too big. I think the lack of light at the base causes that portion to die and rot.
It happens no matter if its tied to driftwood, rocks, mesh or probably even CR like your method.
However, your method makes it easy to replant these loose fissiden! No need to retie or do alot of work
Your method may actually be an easy solution to my mass of floating fissiden now!
i tried this before on spiky moss, i tie around the CR and slot it inside the hole.
to be really frank it is rather i copied from Feide who gave me some spiky moss.
am i thinking or Nava is thinking of "holy floating fissiden balls" ?
