arrow leaf is probably going to become a surface leaf.
Hi!
I have the red tiger lotus in my tank and recently it has produced new bulbs with new little plants. However, I noticed a very strange thing. From these new bulbs, there are two types of leaves. One is the noremal tiger lotus I know and from this same bulb, there's also an arrow-shaped tiger lotus coming out. It's weird. I have never seen this before. Can anyone tell me what the new leaf is supposed to be? (Maybe a submmersed form)??
Thanks!

It's normal for the first few leaves to be like that. They will not grow large either. You can see them in Tropica's pics too. The important thing is that they do not continue to produce such leaves.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
So is there anyway to prevent the "arrow leaves"??
Thanks!
No idea. But if its only the first few leaves, why worry?

Hahhahaha!
Not worried just very interesting.
Didn't know they could be so different.
Hi adman76
How long did your tiger locus take to form new bulbs/ leaves from the time you planted it? Are they fast or slow growers?
I got a bunch that appeared healthy last week but found that 2 of the leaves have melted away (started from the edges), either because of some root damage during transplanting or they were already starved while in transition.
Sometimes, just after planteng new plants, especially plants like crypto or plants with bulbs, the leaves would melt, but if the conditions are right, after a while the lnew shoots would come out and then it would be all ok.
As for mine it's been in my tank for almost two months and I already have two new bulbs forming.
