Dear all,
I've been considering buying Seachem Nitrogen to add to my aquarium. However, I also know it consists of 50% ammonium.
While I understand that plants prefer ammonium to nitrate as a source of N, I have read instances of experts cautioning against dosing ammonium. Diana Walstad says its too toxic, while Tom Barr warns it may cause algae blooms.
Does anybody have first hand experience with Seachem Nitrogen, and can someone enlighten me towards how dangerous dosing ammonium really is?

Aquascaper?
I used to use it for EI dosing, and while it's very costly for that purpose, I did not see any massive algae issues that can be attributed to ammonia.
Note also that it is in the ammonium form NH4+, which is not toxic (compared to ammonia NH3)
