    Hi experts,

I need your advice to get rid of Hair algae in my 4' tank.
    I have a 4' x 1.5' x 1.5' fish tank with basic plant setup ( Not an extensive
beautiful plant tank like many of yours )

In the recent two months, there have been an unsightly brown and green hair algae in my tank. Some of my Taiwan moss also turn black from green.
My lights are 36" x4 together with CO2 switch on 4 hours twice a day.
    ( Day and night )

My friend introduced " anti hair algae to me 3 days ago for treatment, however, I did not see the improvement or should I wait for longer time ?

Pls advise what shall I do in order to have a nice fish tank for my new year ?

    Thanks many times

    Rich

    Algae

    Hi,

Would you like to give the following details:

    1. Total number of watts of your light
    2. Whats your PH, KH, NO3 and PO4 values
    3. What did you add to your tank. Chemicals, buffers, fertilisers and its quantity.
    4. Plants and fishes (quantity)

That will help the rest to give you a better answer.
    Cheerio,

Hi, Sorry for my late reply. My answer to your questions as follows :

    1. Total number of watts of your light

    36w x2 and 30w x2

    2. Whats your PH, KH, NO3 and PO4 values

PH is 5.5 to 6, I don't know what are the rest measurement.
Is it a must to know ?

    3. What did you add to your tank. Chemicals, buffers, fertilisers and its quantity.

Add Master Grow of 25ml every two weeks for plants.
fertilisers Sera 4.7kg added more than 10 months ago
    What is buffers ?
External filter and CO2 4hours x2 every day

    4. Plants and fishes (quantity)

Plants and drift wood occupy about half a 4 feet tank
22 Cardinals, 15 rummy nose, two each of SAE and sunker fishes

I know my answers may not be complete but it is to the best of my knowledge.

One thing to note, the hair algae happen in the recent months only.

    Pls advise

    Thanks

    Rich
