    Dear AQ members,

Ever since picking up the hobby I have learnt much from the discussions here. I would like to share my current planted tank, 55W light, 2x1x1.5 ft tank, substrate is a mix of ADA and H.E.L.P soil, CO2 injection and with 1 fan.

Want to keep learning so any comments are welcomed!

Are those glosso??? If yes is better to plant them by per stalk as in 2 leaves per stalk with their root intact.. Using a canister filter will be great... The red plant try to plant them together so as they grow it will be nicer...

After all nice try and nice simple scape... Keep it up... Soon you will get the hold of it...

Thanks for the feedback! Those are glosso as suspected. I attempted to plant in smaller clumps but they keep getting dislodged and float upwards. Will the current configuration be alright of will I see them melting away?

Will take your suggestion and plant the red plant in a clump. Where do you suggest i place it?

The glosso in the center of the clump will melt. Growth is sideways and the carpet will take a longer time.

If 1 section is difficult to plant. Try 2 sections and tuck one section in substrate and the other slightly exposed.

Some people will insert it sideway. (1 o-clock in), others will insert and wobble the pincer abit so the grains will loosen an fall abit.
You may find a method that you like and is effective.

The red plant will grow tall so maybe you can plant it at the back beside the bunch of plants...

Thanks for the feedback. I spent a back-breaking Friday night taking your kind inputs and re-planted the tank. Those are not Altum though, peruvian angels. Here is the latest photo! Thank you all for the feedback.

Now glosso good, wait for it to creep and cover up. may i say the left side will have great volume.
vallisneria gigantea in the corner will look nicer when it towers over, but downside is runners might anger you when catching them.

Will wait for the next update for this nice tank.

Your not alone in the backbreaking part haha but looks good but I feel the moss is abit out of place. like stealing the focus.

Nicely done and look even better... Well maybe is time you invest a canister for your nice tank... If you are on budget well I can recommend you to try shiruba 303... It can be hang at the side of your tank and it's a mini canister... Adding more plant at the back will be good... A easy plant to add you can try water wistera hardy and fast growing...

Thanks for all the feedback! I was previously using a Jebo canister but switched to an internal after a flooding when I was at work due to a faulty valve. Hope it grows well too! I have a spare set of lights should I up my lighting? Now it's a single 55watt PL I can make it 2x55watts totalling 110watts. Is that an over kill?

And bro neondagger where do you suggest I place the moss? It was the best part of my previous tank setup

IMHO, too much lighting easily cause imbalance and algae will grow.
A good canister should serve you well without the leak.

Sorry to interrupt but could i ask if a black background such as the one in the pictures above is necessary for a planted tank?

It is ok as long as the leaf see the light. it will take some days to see growth.
you might want take a look few days later, cause it will only creep after roots start to grow.

Thanks for all the comments! Some of the glsso I've planted are getting dislodged and float up. But i guess it's normal as it is only a very few.

I was thinking of increasing the lighting just till the roots start develop. Increase C02, fertilisation and lighting to promote growth. After the roots are established i will reduce the lighting.

Dont increase light unless you want to grow algae. Increasing co2 is good.
