Sorry for posting that. I got my answers from GC unker already.
Anyway, can someone identify the pictured shrimps, if they are male or female. Thanks. IMG-20120307-WA0003.jpgIMG-20120307-WA0001.jpg

They are females. Males are slimmer. If you got these from GC I think there are no males present. Many shrimplets though.

Oh Male Gorillas, where to find fire red males?
Haha

Not really sure since the majority sold are female. The males tend to lack this intense color. You might be better off finding a nice male cherry to breed with these females. Refer to Navanod's thread on grading cherries, and you will have a better idea of how the male Fire Red or Sakura will look like.

Shop normally cannot sell male fire reds as fire reds because the male's colors are usually quite poor. Hence, all the Fire Reds from shops would be females.
All males of Fire Red colors would be kept as breeding studs by the breeders, hehe.
You can either look out for berried females and then use her male offsprings to breed, or look for people selling/giving Fire Red culls. There'll be plenty of males in those culls.
I can go look in my tank for some males too.
Also, a gentle reminder to avoid SMS lingo darter bro.
Bro Nav,
If you could be so nice to sell me some males from your fire red, i would greatly appreciate it. Hope to find some males for my lesbians soon.
Apologies for the sms lingo.
