Not much but bio home is one of the best
So my shopping list is now
1) 2 feet tank + cabinet
2) eheim 2215
3) substrate pro
4) chiller resun cl 280?(is this suitable? Should I get something else?)
5) mosura BT-9, old sea mud.
6) shrimp soil
7) jaqno prefilter? (I still don't understand how to use prefilter)
What else did I miss out?
Lightings? I'm thinking of only a type of moss & DW, maybe 1 or 2 moss ball. That's all.

Any actually you don't need prefilters.
1) 2 feet tank + cabinet (Your take, ideally try to go for thickness of 8-10mm)
2) eheim 2215 (Should be good enough, I'm using 2217 with pre-filter and chiller)
3) substrate pro (One of the better media around, if got budget go for it)
4) chiller resun cl 280?(is this suitable? Should I get something else?) (If you are using it for 2ft-3ft, single tank, good enough. In fact I'm using the same chiller for now)
5) mosura BT-9, old sea mud. (Good to have)
6) shrimp soil ( What you have in mind?)
7) jaqno prefilter? (I still don't understand how to use prefilter) (What i understand is easier to maintain as just change wool at pre-filter.)
Bro I recommend you get 2217 as your flow rate will be badly reduced by the prefilter( if your getting) and plus your chiller! If you are getting a 2215 sure cannot make it.As for media of your rich you can just biohome plus.but substrate pro also can
Are you going for a 2 x 1 x 1 feet tank or a 2 x 1.5 x 1.5 feet tank? The water volume is almost double for the 2 x 1.5 x 1.5, approximately 55Litres vs 115 Litres.
Like bro xconnect suggested, a higher flowrate might be recommended since you are intending to be running with chiller and prefilter. It saves your trouble for having to upgrade further if you experienced a weak flowrate.
If the chiller has not been bought yet, you can try to look for a 1/10 hp chiller.
ok then i'll probably need to get 2217 instead of 2215 because many people suggested me to get prefilter.
tank wise, i might need to measure again. thinking of 2 x 1 x 1.5(is there such a size available out there? custom make?). need to keep width at 1 feet max.
so it's..
1) 2 feet tank + cabinet
2) eheim 2217
3) substrate pro
4) chiller resun cl 280
5) mosura BT-9, old sea mud. (anything else?)
6) Benibachi shrimp soil
7) jaqno prefilter
anything to add?

Double tap?
Im using 2217 also
If not you are good to go.....
Yes, its possible to get the dimension that you want for by customising them.
To add on to your list, may want to get dechlorinator. And also a lightset.
agreed because classics are quite hard to start from what i heard from bros here a double tap would be very handy in starting your 2217 and maintain your filter can just close the tap and remove the filter for cleaning.for me i have a 2224 it can automatically start its own

Bro remember this 2217 you need to use your mouth to suck from the outlet hose to activate the water flow
Hi bro, I would like to know how do you choose the chiller? As in, does the chiller flowrate be more than, less than or same as the canister filter?
And let's say if I only got a 2215 without prefilter, are there any kind of chiller suitable for this?
I dont have a chiller so your set up will be this :
Inlet hose > prefilter > canister > chiller > outlet hose spraybar
ON the canister power, Once the water you suck touches the powerhead of the canister and filled the chiller and you sees the water flowing out from the outlet hose, you can switch OFF the canister power , then do your necessary position of your outlet hose ( or attach the spaybar) then everything ready you may turn ON the power again & this will kick start liao.
Cant really recommend what light will be good, im personally using a 2nd hand t5ho for my 3feet tank and a t8-led light for my 2feet tank.
And yes, many of us are using mosura shizhen, as it helps with the chloramine that is found in Singapore's tap water too.
Yeah that i understand, i hope some other seniors around with more expertise on lightings and plants can help shed some light on this issue.
i think i read on another thread that LED would be sufficient because moss doesn't requires much lighting.
i just need something good enough for the moss and bright enough for me to see my shrimps.
