anyone else?? come on, we need to spread our poison to the rest of the shrimp lovers. racks or long tank are welcome.
i will start the ball rolling as more and more people set up shrimp racks for their shrimps
here's mine
here's the new JET- 3688, Atman CF1200 and newly furbish Teco TR15 connected to my shrimp rack. Water flow has increase significantly.
The Jet - 3688 is a dummy ( i'm a sucker for more media )
The chiller is move up on top of a 2 feet spare rack and its place in a position where the exhaust is facing out the window. the two canister is at the bottom of the 2 feet rack
now my schematic of my water flow is :
->Atman CF1200
->JET-3688 ( dummy)
->Teco TR15
->top tank
->middle tank
->bottom tank
water parameter
pH - 6.5
gH - 7
kH- 2
temp - 24-25
water change per week - three 1.5 litre distilled water + 3drop of shizen + 3 drop of mineral plus.

Hi Bro,
ok i have read how you did your New Tank project it was so in detail. many thanks to you. =)
currently i have a 2 ft tank 1/10 chiller i was thinking of setting up a tri-tank. but has no ideal how to link up my chiller and pipes
which im still a newbie on DIY yet!!!
The tri-tank size is about 4.5ft by 1.5ft im not sure is my chiller able to recycle??
my this tank is only about 2 month old and now im thinking of setting up new one.
see how fast the poison can spread xD
haha, thanks for viewing my thread.
mind tell me more what this tri tank means?
from what i know now, you might have a bit of problem linking the tri tank with your existing 2 feet tank.

yo evil bro, and fellows
my current tank:
2ft x 1ft x 40cm
resun 280cl chiller
jebo filter ( the cheapers )
my intention is to get a
4.5ft x 1.5ft x 30cm
3 partition, each partition is 1.5ft
i was thinking am i able to recycle my current tank item to link up the new tank?
my concen now is flowrate and not sure my chiller can support up to 2 tank?
btw i will like to check is it safe to have co2 with crs? i understand from others that higher grade crs is more sensitive to water condition. currently i have is about 30+ sss 10 snowhite.
possible, ur tri tank on the top, 2 feet at the bottom. overflow your tri-tank and water flows into your 2 feet tank.
err, your cl 280 will be over worked if you wants to run both tanks. better to get cl 450 or cl 650. more efficient this way.

Evil, if you overflow a 2ft and 3ft but only chill one tank, would the other tank be slightly cooler??
Yes it will. For my case. The top tank is the coldest. The temperature from top to bottom is like 24-25-25.5 range with around 1 degree difference.

Yo bro
ic.... i wast thinking, if i still need to buy a new chiller maybe my 2 ft tank i can help me grow more plants and heavy co2 and lighting.
but is it still safe to use co2? example :
if i Link my tri-tank to my 2 feet tank below and i use heavy co2 then after filter chiller back to top tank is it safe for my crs?
hee hee

Fwah! The airsponge is the size of the tank!
Hi Alan,
I understand that your shrimp rack is situated in your room and would like to ask if the operational sound (noise) of the chiller is an issue when it's bedtime?
Comtemplating to place a possible shrimp rack in my bedroom instead of the living room and hence the question
haha. no choice. but it seems to work well
for my haliea HC 300A when its running, its more quiet than my fan. so there is not much issue for me.
maybe because i can tolerate noise since young ( bedok bus interchange is just across the road )

Ah. Quieter than a fan sounds 'do-able' for me too thank you for the advice, Alan.
Thank you bro Alan for showing your rack..
Here is mine... Lousy photo from iPhone camera...
