Not enough power, even if you turn on 20 hours also useless.

    1 - light

    2 - co2

    3 - temperature

if you can settle these 3 things. you will be very successful in planted tank. and what's algae anyway

    Yes, I am ranting!

    Re: 3 things about algae

I'd rather think of algae as being organic to any aquatic environment, and so it is mostly healthy and normal. Even in the most 'algae-sterile' aquarium, algae intensity is but a function of time. Also, green algae itself being a photosythetic plant, it should help oxygenate the water for the benefit of fish too.

This may seem odd, but I like my fish to be in green 'pea soup', although tank visibility is then sacrificed, lol. (Also oddly, I have a feeling fish see better and feel better in the 'pea-soup').

Fully agree with this, I was a victim of this.

    IMHO, suggestion :

Replace 3 with "Nutrient" instead (technically speaking co2 is also a nutrient to plant, but is trickier to maintain the right level than others so lets just keep it a separate line)

And what you do is basically give the plants an optimal growth condition (or the "unlimted condition" as the guru says)
With happy & healthy plant, low ammonia, lots of oxygen, algae will retreat.

btw (1) Light is also subjective too. E.g. low light tank with no CO2 can also be very successfully with no sign of algae if at the right balance.

Does anyone know what material is able to filter out green water Algae? It is obvious that even the finest aquarium filter material is not able to do that.

Has anyone tried any fine-woven fabric and such? I seem to have a 'knack' of cultivating thick green water, lol...

Add floating plant (or add more plant in general), reduce the light level, reduce feeding or reduce fish load,,,

Diatom filter will do the job.
