How about the cost for replacement cartridges? How often does it need to be changed? Say in that same year? Also is the quality of the filtered water constant all through?

    Bro cheeft have a point.

Indivdual cartridges have different months of useage, carbon block may be 3 months, others maybe longer.

Noticed that each set comes with 1 cartridge. The Bundled set come with another 4 cartridges. (But I might be wrong, because I based on the picture, off the shelve, each replacement comes with about 6 if not mistaken or I was looking at Brita RO System) Each cartridge needs to be changed after 150L. There is a counter on top to remind you. Suppose you use 15L per month, you need to change 1 cartridge after 10 months. Usually you have to change earlier, any water filtered you can drink direct too. : > I like this part.

Found it, confirmed at 4 per box.

I had a look at the brochure. Says the cartridge change after 150L depends on the source water quality. The worse part is you won't know how ineffective the filter is until your lifestock start to get affected.

That will depends on whether boiled water that is cooled off or tap water. Pitcher clear chlorine 95%. Currently I am using tap water + dechlorine solution to top up. It just mean a cleaner source for me. So I was thinking of what you are thinking at the moment, what is the effect on shrimp as they are more sensitive. Until we put it to the test, or if someone have been using it stand out to tell us the result, we might not know the outcome.

I intend to put it to the test actually.
From Tale of a farmer II - Construction of the Fish rack. I intend to get a pitcher and store it up, complete with substrate for ph auto adjustment.
You can see the water tank that I just bought which is a Toyogo container lookalike, able to hold water more than a standard 2ft.

I think the lifespan of the cartridge has to do with the water quality not boiled or not. At least with bottled distilled water you are most likely to get a more constant quality. By the way, I believe RO needs pressure to work.

Correct. the 1L above and the 1.5L below works with gravity.

High chance you will be working with 1L most of the time at each point of water top up and pouring the water out.
