could be a juvenile. I was told that several species of barbs with horizontal stripes actually has youngs with vertical stripes! how many pieces do you have and what sizes?

why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

Lorba, you've seen my gear wireless transmitter + 550EX, then appropriate amount of closeup and a circular polariser.

Should be a juvenile Puntius binotatus. it's a common fish in Johor..

the sketch is small but, by looking at the actual book, looks almost same as the smallest stage.
cheers,
the full grown is 18cm? gosh... when they exceed 3cm and looks potentially bigger, its time to take them out of my little tank.

If the dorsal spot turns out to be roundish, then it is binotatus, if it is elongated it is banksi. All this according to FishBase, but of course subject to revision. Also some researcher prefer to group them under Systomus, a more restrictive genus.
