Yesterday i did a major water change and after a few hours tested the water. It was pH 6.5, gh 4, kh 1, zero ammonia nitrite and nitrate. Tank has beed running for a month and a week already. Why is the pH still so low. I want a ph of 6.5. Need advise.

You tested PH6.5 and you want PH6.5? You should have gotten your required PH already...

for the nitrite problem you can add floating plants to soak up all of it and how much lifestock do you intend to put? because for me a 2213 is a little bit undered powered for a 2ft tank or maybe i like to overkill . as for your ph problem just cycle the tank longer because ada soil like that one try not to adjust if not next time you cannot bring down the ph XD.

You want ph 6.5 with Ada new Amazonia?? You likely get low ph for a couple of months maybe after your 4th months you will see a raise in ph. Water change with dechlorinated water from tapwater. My guess is within 3-4 month your ph will increase. sorry not guess should increase

Well, you could keep on changing large amounts of water. That might bring up the ph a bit faster, probably it won't take 4 months.

Omggg. Ph 4.5 just tested. In the afternoon tested ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, all at zero. And ph at 5.0. Did about 30% water change in the afternoon also. Just got back and tested it at 4.5. Is this serious??

Then better don't touch the water just cycle longer if not really will decrease the soils buffering live

Have you check your ph from the source of your water? If really want to increase ph fast can consider using coral chips or additives to increase the ph for the time being.

But then still better to perform the water cycle longer.

Wondering are you really so rushing introducing livestocks?

What type of soil are you using? Different soil has its own PH Buffer.

Not exactly rushing. but isnt it better to get things done as soon as possible? anyway could it be that my KH is too low? maybe zero? i have been using api liquid test, the moment i drip 1 drop from the bottle to the test tube and shake it i can already see a faint yellowish color under light. but its very light. i read that api test for kh and gh are a little hard to tell the color change so im not sure if this really light yellow is alright. or do i have to add more drops?
