Hi Seniors, understand that when feeding the shrimps, we suppose to remove the remaining food after 1-2 hours, so do you throw the remaining food away or you take them out and keep, then use these remaining food to feed the shrimps again?

    Remove and throw....
Normally I will just chip it into small little pieces and dump it in instead of a big clunk piece.

Same i cut it into maybe 5mm by 5mm + - size. Cause some product will be soften maybe it hard to remove. You might want to consider a feeding dish i got those ceramic one from daiso. The problem is once they start grabbing and snatch some of them will drag it out of the dish.

Re: Some questions on feeding shrimps.

in my opinion, another alternative is to look for those kind of food that is like small pellets (looks like fish food, round and tiny) and feed the number of pellets based on number of shrimps. then, it will be each shrimp gets its own share. you then probably would not have to worry about wastage and cutting. but, type of food varies, based on main ingredients used and their specific purpose. you might mix a few range of food.

Question to bro Avex30, how deep does the dish have to be, for my case, they will snatch the food, even in smaller cuts, drag it around (especially when the food expands due to the water), like kids. Do they become more discipline with the dish?? As in, they will crowd around the food in the dish or they will still drag it totally out with the dish empty?

My case, i cut my food into quarters already. nowadays, i end up cutting the quarters into tiny scraps, and feed them one by one with a tweezer. And, i would not know which i have fed and which i have not sometimes. Advantage to the is you "hand-feed" your shrimps, spend more eye-power time with them. haha~

Powder food will spread around the tank. So have to feed with caution.
