    Hey folks,

Have you got any experience in keeping Senegal bichirs?

I saw some in my neighbourhood fish store and find them really quite fascinating!

Are they safe with neon/cardinal tetras, lyretail swordtails, CPOs, and guppies?

Definitely not safe. Polypterus senegalus is a predatory fish, grows to a considerable length and consumes anything that fits into it's mouth. If you want to have some fishes as tankmates, consider anything that is not as small as the head of a full grown specimen.

Phew, glad I asked. Many thanks, Shi Xuan!

You may consider the reedfish or Erpetoichthys calabaricus, which is smaller and less predatory on fishes.
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man to fish and he will drink beer while getting sunburnt.
