Bro, in Singapore we're limited to keep only a certain species of "pets". The pets that's allowed are namely:

Terrapins - Red Ear Sliders, Dogs, Cats and Fishes. No more then those.
Fish keeping is not a good hobby unless you received support from your family to keep them.

Among "herps", the only species allowed to be sold as pets are red-eared sliders, Malayan box turtles, and White's tree frogs. You might also find juvenile crab-eating frogs and American bullfrogs being sold as feeders for predatory fish. Otherwise, any other turtle or frog species is considered illegal. All lizards, snakes, crocodilians and salamanders/newts are illegal.

    Hope this helps.

balefire: Yes, as far as I know, fire-bellied newts and clawed frogs are still considered illegal, as they are not in the list of species approved for sale in pet shops. You can check the AVA website for details.
