Inpired by Budak's ariticle entitled "A low-tech, low maintenance approach to mini planted tanks", I am planning to turn my vacant 14" tank into a low tech one.

Beside moss and fern, what are the plants suitable for the set up?
Where can I find links to some nice mini tanks?

    Thanks.

You can try Anubias species, hornwort or floating plants.

Cryptocoryne pygmaea is readily available there, right? I'm trying one piece in my 2.5-gallon (10-liter) tank. I have a regular 8W fluorescent strip light on top. The other plants I'm growing in this tank are Bacopa monnieri, C. wendtii x hybrid (which I don't really like the appearance of), Anubias nana 'Petit', and C. wendtii 'Tropica', which is growing very nicely. Oh - I also have what I believe to be Sagittaria subulata, but it's not growing very fast. I'm also trying to win some Vallisneria var. nana (aka "crystal val") for this tank (possibly to replace the Sags), but I don't know if I'm going to have enough light (or headroom) for it. If not, I can move it to my 10-gallon tank.

I think B. monnieri actually puts out more attractive growth under medium lighting than strong lighting. It's always grown nicely in this set-up. If you're going to skimp on lighting and CO2, be sure to at least provide a nice, rich substrate. It does wonders for Crypts.

As for Egeria densa (Anacharis), I think it's a cold water/very strong light plant. Under regular lighting it grows very ugly for me. I have a few pieces I leave floating, but if I try to plant it, it gets stunted and starts branching from one of the higher nodes. I don't use it in my "planted" tanks.
