firstly, goldfish eats everything, or you might consider using anuabis, hopefully the thicker leaf will deter them. But do be cautious that goldfish produce alot of poo, so you can to change water more often

having 2 out of 3 things in a planted tank isnt going to help. It is just like having, fish and soup without rice

Use floating plants would be nice. Such as frogbits and duckweeds and hornworts. They are easy to maintain and the fish get some food.. lol

    hi ,

thanks for the reply. but will those plants mentioned survive in the tank without CO2??

if ok then will consider to get them for decoration and hopefully control ammonia.

    is it correct??

    thank

floating plants do not require co2 injection. since they extract CO2 from the air.

Anubias nana or Java fern tied to driftwood will do fine with goldfish.... Ditto floating plants.

    Hi,

Goldfish love to nibble on plants, especially the new growth. I used to keep goldfish, and these are plants that I notice they pretty much leave alone.

    - Anubias (any variety)
    - java ferns
    - Bolbitis heudelotii
    - pennywort
    - frogbits (they'll nibble the roots)
    - Some crypts (need nutrient-rich substrate)

You probably have a bare bottom tank for easy maintenance, so those plants (except for crypts) can be tied to rock or driftwood and do ok in a low-tech tank. If you have duckweed, it'll disappear in days cuz it's like Haagen Daz ice cream to them. They simply love it! Good for their digestion too (you'll see green poo). Best to keep a separate container of duckweed in a sunlit place to propagate.

I like dwarf Lillie's with goldfish. It would be like having a pond, but you can see inside. Here are some ideas from my old setups,
