I have been maintaining a 15" cube tank with just x'mas moss and Rotala macrandra. I have suddenly realised today that I have not been changing the water for almost 2 months. In an air con room, I just top-up the losses... plain idle!

Wonder what would be the implications without the weekly water change. I only have about 10 rummy nose inside. Pls advice.

You are simply doing the proper non-CO2 method without even knowing it. Fish poo act as fertilizers for plants and no water changes keeps the nutrients intact for plants to consume slowly..(very very slowly though). Its a method which requires some tweaking for the amount of critters to add so as to provide the right amount of nutrients in the form of ammonia (small amount in pulses) and later NO3. You only need to do large water changes if pruning/disturbing of the substrate is needed which will only occur in months.
